I'm not neglecting the possibility of spelling variations concerning my surname, (pronounced as in a long i). At some point in time it was very possible that the spelling was different but as I have it so far, the ancestors spelled it Feÿh,.......the double dot (ÿ being a ligature of i and j) being eventually dropped. The name is now spelled FEYH in the U.S. and in Germany,(has been for quite some time) but I haven't been able to conclude the time period this was done. I have been unable to find records with the spelling variation....FEIJH or FEIJ, as of yet, but then I am still in the early stages of researching my family surname. If you can enlighten me more on the subject or have seen documented records with the FEIJH or FEIJ spellings, I would be appreciative. If you like you can e-mail me directly as I often forget to check this forum on a regular basis.
