Hi, sorry it took me so long to write back.Jost Fickes/Fickas married Johanna Regina Baier Dec 1739 in York Co. PA.Together they had 13 children. All born in York Co.
PA. 1. Maria Barbara Fickas b 05 Mar 1741 she married Peter Storm/Sturm.2. Maria Catherine Fickas b 1743 d ?3. Susanna Fickas b 27 Nov 1744 m Samuel Howe.4.John George Fickas b abt 1746.5. Velte Fickas b 08 Feb 1750.6. Nicholaus Fickas b 19 Feb 1752 m Catherine ?7. John Martin Fickas b 17 june 1754 m Wilhelmina ?8. Maria Catherine Fickas b june 1756.9. Anna Margaret Fickas b 09 July 1759.10. John/Johannes Fickas b 01 July 1761 m Elixabeth Menges.11.Johan Adam Fickas b 07 Dec 1764 m Eve ? ( This is my ancestor, he and his family moved to Henderson county KY around 1805-1806.So there are records of the Fickas's in IN and KY.Also one of Johan Adam's children: (Adam Fickas)moved with his wife and children to MO.)12.Elizabeth Margaretha Fickas b 24 Oct 1766.
I don't know if all this if info you already have or if it will be helpful at all.One of my ancestors Jacob Bethel Fickas (whose father was Johan Adam Fickas), had a son named John Fickas b 1831.Also Adam Fickas another son of Johan Adam had a son named John ( this is the group that went to MO.) I am thinking that your John born in 1781 might be a cousin to all of my Fickas's.Jost and Johnanna didn't have a child born in 1781 but Jost might have had brothers living in PA.Let me know if you have any info that might help in my search for Johan Adam Fickas wifes last name. All I have is Eve and no last name.I know they were married in PA but can find no record.Good luck with your searching...this is a great work!!Did Peter Storm and Maria Barbara have a son named John??
Cyndy
