William C. Ficken obituary

FICKEN-
-Mr. William C. Ficken died at Waynesboro, Ga., in the 57th year of his age. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Misses Minnie Lee and Mabel Ficken; three brothers, Messrs. George W. and Ed L. Ficken, of Atlanta, and Mr. Luther Ficken*, of New York city; one sister, Mrs. Theo Eining. The remains will arrive in Atlanta today and be removed to the parlors of Harry. G. Poole, who will announce funeral arrangements later.

FICKEN-- The friends of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Ficken, Misses Minnie Lee and Mabel Ficken, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Ficken, Mr. and Mrs. Ed L. Ficken, and Mr. and Mrs. Luther Ficken* of New York city, and Mrs. Theo Eining are invited to attend the funeral of Mr. William C. Ficken this (Thursday) morning at 11 o'clock at the chapel of Harry G. Poole. Rev. J.H. Allison will officiate. Interment in Greenwood cemetery. The following gentlemen will please act as pallbearers and meet at the chapel at 10:30 o'clock: Messrs. J.R. Jordan, B.H. Williams, R.D. Webb, V.H. Carmichael, Hugh Hamby and A.I. Thomas.
*Luther Ficken was actually a nephew - he was the son of William's older sister Anna who later moved to NY and married a Smith. William Ficken may have died of heart failure while painting the underside of a water tank. He was found hanging by his foot from the rope of the basket he was in, on or about Dec. 14.
