Fitch Castle revisited
This is probably best answered by John Fitch, but if anyone would like to contribute, that's fine.
I realize that the Fitch Castle question has been answered before but I have an additional question that, I don't believe, was addressed.
As I recall John Fitch had said that the question of a Fitch Castle was first introduced by someone in the 40's in a book and was just made up. I have a large genealogy chart that was commissioned by my great grandfather's cousin in the late 1800's. In it there is a further line, beyond William Fitch (c 1400- 1466) of Widdington, Essex, that goes back to John Fitch "of Fitch's Castle" in possibly the 1200's.
I plan to add to my Fitch CD the pro's and con's of a possible Castle. Could you address this earlier reference to a Castle??
Thnaks!
Tanya
