What a wonderful story.I am 74 been doing Fitzwater genealogy since 1947.Personally met many older then, now deceased, researchers and corresponded with many.My grandfather told me numerous stories at 16.However, I have never been able to locate the marriage of William Fitzwater to Ann McCaslen, or find who her parents are.I believe they were not married until 1762/3.There are conflicting birth dates, according to the gravestones, of the twins. These stones (age at death) say they were not twins, but born a year apart.Knowing stones can be in error, I have searched for these twins birth records, and the marriage record of parents for 57 years without success. If you have any information as to where those records are located, please post.I do know that William was in Augusta County 1762 as he is a "resident" in court records (BK 7, p. 184)- there is no land recording I have located to date. This record makes me believe he was married either 1762, or 1763, but cannot locate the marriage record.
Can you, or anyone out there help?
