Well let's see what I can do, since I gave you the orginal info.
McCaslin/McCashlin/McCausland Spelled in the various spellings for the same family in the various deeds, wills, and land records.
Mary Ann (McCaslin)Fitzwater and her brother John McCaslin Sr. both came to Va. & what's now W.Va. from Chester County Pa. (note the Fitzwater family also has records in Chester Co.)
John McCaslin Sr. and his nephew (twin) John Fitzwater Sr. settled near each other in what was then Kanawha Co. and later became Nicholas Co.
John McCaslin(Spelled McCashlin and McCaslin on land records and McCausland on his will) was a large landowner in Kanawha Co. (Spelled Kenawha on his will.) Due to old age and failing health John went to live with his son Andrew in Bath Co. Va. This son Andrew McCaslin fought in the Rev War and was in the Battle of Point Pleasant his Rev. War Pension File states he was born in Chester Co. Pa.
John's daughter's and most of his grandchildren lived in Kanawha - Nicholas - Fayette - Greenbrier and Putnam Counties of W.Va. Where they were a prominent family.
Nicholas Co. was formed in 1818 and Fayette in 1830. both from parts of Kanawha co. and others.
John McCausland Sr. left a will in Bath Co. Va. Dated Jan. 9, 1811 Probated Sept. 1813 Court

His son John Jr. is not mentioned in the will but his sons are. There are records that list them as Jr. and Sr.
Mary Ann McCaslin was the 2nd wife of Sampson Sawyers and they had 5 children. Rebecca, Andrew, Alexander, Archibald(Archer) and Mathews(Spelled Mathew on his grandfathers will.)
Mathew Sawyers (Spelled Mathews Sawyers on his will of 1856 in Fayette Co.) was a well known Dr. and Surgeon in the area.
Will of Mathews Sawyers Dated Aug. 1856 Fayette Co. W.Va. (Va.) - Named Brothers Alexander, Andrew, Archer, and sister Rebecca. Two nephews named Sampson Sawyers and to the younger of the two he left his books medical and other, medicines and all of his surgical instruments.
