You have found a mystery for sure and it of course, for my pedigree does present verification problems for attaching him to his supposed ancestors. It is a bit like the ancient Egyptians who hammered out the name of any pharoah who had been judged as not worthy to retain their name!
I'm sure you've considered this but is it possible that Philip, assuming his existence used his middle name and that is what he became known as?Just a thought.I will stay tuned to the Ballard/Fitzwilliam forums to see if anything new emerges.
