Thank you for the stories and names re Mary Polly Flack Nanney's lineage! With your information about Mary's father Andrew Flack (1773-1865) and her grandfather John Flack (b.?--d 1792) I was able to find the following references which you probably already have, but perhaps some parts might be helpful. (1) "Bridges to the Past" Vol I, p.123 by Mrs.Ernest Newton and Roy Brooks. Article entitled "Tidbits From The County Court of Pleas...""Oct.1792: Letters of Administration issued to Mary Flack and William Porter on goods, chattels, rights and credits of John Flack, dec'd. Andrew, George and Jane Flack, orphans of John Flack chose William Flack their guardian." (2) "Heritage of Rutherford Co. NC" Vol I,1984 article 244 "John Flack helped to organize Brittain Church at Westminister in 1768. He and Jane Porter, daughter of James, married and had four children. Jane (Jencey) Flack, their daughter was born in 1777." Article 252 states "John and William Flack, two brothers, settled in Rutherford Co. about 1760......John Flack (1751-1792) married Jane Porter....His son, George(1779-1860).."
I have more questions for you. Who was Andrew's wife and Mary Polly Flack's mother? What documentation do we have that Mary Polly was Andrew's daughter? An article mentions James Porter, father of Jane Porter. What is known about this James Porter? What role did John Flack play in the Revolutionary War? Thanks again for your reply, Sudie P.S. You asked about a Suttle connection. I have no direct Suttle line. My line goes through William Doggett(1785-1852) and Masa Bedford (grand-daughter of Jonas Bedford and Mercy Raymond. William Doggett had a great aunt Molly Doggett who married Joseph Suttle in 1754. My common ancestor with Suttles would be Molly's father and William's great grandfather, Bushrod Doggett of Culpepper Va. Bushrod descended from the immigrant Rev. Benjamin Doggett, (b.1636,Ipswich England)
