Dear Ant:
I'm sorry, but Ms. Flack's Flack Family Heritage mainly covers Rutherford County, North Carolina, Flacks, w/ a little info on those in Pennsylvania and Illinois.
Just in case you are writing from the "old country," I have a question for you.It seems most likely that the Flacks of Rutherford and Guilford counties, NC, came from Northern Ireland. One of the early ones obtained a pension for Revolutionary War service in the 1830s.He stated that he was from "Killserl" Ireland, b. in 1746.He could not write, so this was a phonetic spelling by a local official.I've never been able to definitely associate that placename (which, of course, may not exist anymore) w/ a place in Northern Ireland (or even Ireland generally) -- and I've consulted books w/ lists of placenames from that period.Do you know of a place that might "sound" like "Killserl," or have any idea who I might ask? Thanks, Tim
