Hi Barbara, Its a while since I touched this tree but lets see if I can get my brain in gear again. I'll also display my thoughts here (rather than an email) so anyone else can join in if they want to (the more the merrier.)
I've just reuploaded the tree so my work is current:-
http://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/getperson.php?personID=I45796&tree=Tree602Jhttp://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/getperson.php?personID=I45796&tree=Tree602J
I've also done a lot of work prior to all this (as we all have ..lol) trying to make sense of all these different Flack families in PA. My apologies but I'll be posting quite a number of links.
I tried to list all the Flack census records from 1790-1880 in tabular form to see if I could link a few up, see:-
http://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/documents/Pennsylvania_SW_Early_Census.phphttp://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/documents/Pennsylvania_SW_Early_Census.php
By my reckoning - James (the prisoner Flack - b.1753-1841) is PROBABLY the brother of Robert Flack (b.bef 1755-abt.1803) - as you will see they both appear in Fairfield in the 1790 census as 'FLEEK'.
Following the census through I BELIEVE that the John Flack ( b. 1776/1784) that appears in next 1800 census is the son of ROBERT not James.
This son John Flack stays in Fairfield until the 1820 census but then disappears after that and I have never found him.
I also tried to do a 'pictoral display' but having looked at it again it needs a lot more work I think. See:-
http://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/histories/Pennsylvania_West.phphttp://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/histories/Pennsylvania_West.php
----------------
I do also have a separate tree for John Noble Flack, see:-
http://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/getperson.php?personID=I4456&tree=Tree615Jhttp://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/getperson.php?personID=I4456&tree=Tree615J
But his birth date seems to be 1770 - which is JUST outside my guestimated birth date range of 1776/1784 for the John (son of Robert) above - so I never took that leap of faith and linked them.
------------------
Finally - I DID at one stage have John Noble Flack linked into the 'Hannah Whyte' tree, see:-
http://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/getperson.php?personID=I4450&tree=Tree608Jhttp://www.flackgenealogy.com/newtng/getperson.php?personID=I4450&tree=Tree608J
but I was far from convinced it was a correct link so I separated the trees out.
-----------
All these PA Flacks make your head spin I do admit - so any help or ideas are always welcome.
QUESTION - have you found the Halferty's in the John Noble Flack census records yet?? - all I could see is 1850 where there is a Thomas and Katy Harinety? with them.
CENSUS: 1850 US Federal Census - Ohio, Richland, Worthington, Page 302. *[ 11 Aug 1850 ]*
John N Flack age 80 born Pennsylvania. Occupation Farmer. Real Estate=$600.
Martha Flack age 68 born Pennsylvania.
Margaret Flack age 37 born Pennsylvania. (age shows clearly on Census page)
Ann Flack age 33 born Pennsylvania.
Thomas J Morrel age 29 born Virginia.
Thomas Harinety age 66 born Ireland. Occupation Farmer.
Katy Harinety age 55 born Ireland.
My apologies for rambling on
Best wishes
Jim
