FERN KATHERINE FLACK
JUNE 27, 1913
Fern Katherine Flack, the third child of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flack, of Germanville township, was born September 15, 1909 and died June 20, 1913, aged 3 years, 9 months and 5 days.
For the second time within two months the Angel of Death has entered the once happy home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flack, and taken another beloved daughter to join her little sister, Florence, who also died of typhoid pneumonia. Little Fern was sick at the time of her sister's death and although cared for day and night by trained nurses, and all that skillful physicians and devoted parents could devise was done to help her in the struggle for life.
If we could but see beyond the veil we would say with our hearts, "God's will not our's be done:, but it is only human to wonder with broken hearts whey we were so afflicted.
She leaves to mourn her early death her parents, one brother, Floyd, and baby sister, Erma, and a large circle of relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held at the Evangelical church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Koepp assisted by Rev. Moehl officiating. The pallbearers for both sisters were: George and Joe Roth, Earl and Orville Hummel. Interment at Chatsworth cemetery.
