Re: Flanner family of Essex England
I have traced my lineage to George Flanner (b.1811 England) - presumably the same George Flanner who was convicted at Old Bailey and sent to Australia on the Georgiana 1831. I suspect that he may be the brother of William Flanner who was also sent to Australia, and perhaps a son of William Flanner who was sentenced to 1 month prison for some crime involving stealing trousers, where he mentioned he was father to 10 motherless children.
I can't find any connections though to link our George to the Flanner's of Essex but considering it is not a particularly common name, perhaps they are linked. If anyone has any information I would be grateful.
