Hello! Yes, I know this Goldsbury Flowers. He was a son of Luke Flowers, who came to Pike County, Ala. and later moved to Coffee County and even later moved to Florida. This Goldsbury Flowers died in 1865 and left those children you found on the census. This Goldsbury Flowers was married to Malinda Eddins, a sister of my Gr.Gr.Gr. Grandmother Graves.Several years ago, a granddaughter of this Goldsbury and Malinda (She is now 92 yrs. old) came by to see me.Her father was Wingate B. Flowers, son of Goldsbury and Malinda.
However, she didn't know of any connection to the John McCaskill living in the Flowers family (nor do I).I imagine John McCaskill was just a farm laborer on the Flowers farm.
There was a Kenneth McCaskill who livedin the southern part of Pike County near where this Flowers family lived.Don't know for certain, but he's probably buried at Center Ridge Methodist Church in an un-marked grave as some of his children are buried there. If I remember correctly, Kenneth McCaskill died in 1881.
