A GENETIC RESEARCH QUESTION FOR FLOYDS
I attended a program at our local Gen society the other day and the topic was Genetic Research. It dawned on me that it might be a good idea to pose this question to the Floyd Forum.Does anyone have a hereditary medical history of their knees becoming dislocated??
This has run in our family and been traced at least through my grandfather, Joseph Benjamin Floyd. it was passed down not only to myself, brothers and cousins, and my children but now it is appearing in my grandchildren.A cousin and myself have had surgery on our knees for this when we were both in our early teens. At that time a study was done by the doctors who found it interesting that it was a condition passed down through the generations.i believe my mother said they traced it past my grandfather but I was a kid and not very interested. Now I regret that!
i don't know, of course, if my grandfather Floyd got this genetic problem from his father or his mother.I would like to find out--plus hopefully, I'll find some Floyd ancestors.So---has any of the Floyds reading this ever had their knee caps slip around to the side--sometimes it pops right back in place and sometimes it doesn't.Answer here or by e-mail if this seems to run in YOUR Floyd line.Thanks.
Mary
