I have read all of the messages on this string and no one has answered the question of Tom Floyd, why it was not necessary to document the father of Francis Floyd.
In the DAR you only need to document back to the Revolutionary ancestory. They do not encourage you to add ancestors farther back than this.
Another thing, how old is this original application for DAR on Francis Floyd. If it was a real early application, they did not really question your documentation. At this time anyone who wishes to join on so many of these old applications are having to come up with some real research. They have become very strict now, they want the correct documentation.
If this was my ancestor I would not take an old DAR application as any kind of proof, I would be digging for real proof.
