Speculation that Robert Clark Floyd, son of William Floyd and Abadiah Davis, married Lillian Hampton is based upon a will in Henry Co. VA dated 1779 for Lilleyann Hampton in which she mentions her daughter, "Lillaynn Flewd."
There are some interesting things of note, however.Lilleyann Hampton mentions her two sons in her will, Samuel PARKER and John RUSSELL, and a granddaughter, Susanna RUSSELL.This could very well mean that Lillian Floyd's maiden name could very well be either Parker or Russell.
Furthermore, her executors are Devereaux GILLIAM and Thomas STOCKTON.Witnesses to the will are Devereaux GILLIAM, Elizabeth HUTCHESON and Eda GILLIAM.Eda Gilliam is most likely Edna Ellis Gilliam, wife of Devereaux Gilliam, whom he married in Amherst Co. VA ca. 1743.
Robert Clark Floyd would have married Lillian ca. 1769.Their oldest daughter, Elizabeth Floyd, married Thomas Minor Winn in Jefferson Co. KY in 1790.The Floyd family migrated to Jefferson Co. KY from Amherst Co. VA before 1783.
