Hi Peter
Thankyou for your reply.
My Floyd's are as follows:
William Floyd Born c.1845-1851 Liverpool
He married in Liverpool but his wife died he then ended up in St.Albans Herts and married Annie Martin in 1879. They moved to the East end of London where William worked at the docks.
William's father was Emmanuel Floyd, which I know from his marriage certificate. On the IGI William is there born 1845 St.Peter Liverpool to Emmanuel Floyd and Elizabeth Milkwest.
on IGI also is their marriage at St.Peter in 1833.
Other possible children I've found from the IGI are
Samuel b.1835 Sarah Ann b.1837 Thomas b.1839
Also the IGI has a birth of Emmanuel Floyd b.1808 Liverpool to Abraham and Hannah Floyd. There is a marriage for an Abraham and Hannah Taylor dated 1797 Norton in the Moors, Stafford.
As far as I know Samuel had 2 daughters, I know nothing of Sarah Ann, Thomas had 7 Children, some of which I have details.
Emmanuel Floyd is not on the 1851 census but as I immagine he probably was something to do with the docks he could have been away at sea possibly. On the Lancs BMD site there is Emmanuel Flyde died 1857 Liverpool.
Floyd seems to have been a popular name in Liverpool at the time of most of my research although I think now there is only about 5 or 6 listed in the phone book.
hope you can help!
