Tiffany, according to the book One Hundred Fifty Years In Pike County Alabama, by Margaret Pace Farmer,
Pages 480-482
"FLOYD"
"The 1830 census of Pike Couty lists Theophilus Floyd as head of family, age 40-50. The male age 15-20, in the 1830 census was the younger Theophilus Floyd who was born 1812 or 1813 in North Carolina. The younger Theophilus was twice married; first to Elizabeth Stevens in Montgomery County, Alabama, February 6, 1833; second Mrs. Eliza Anne (Milligan)Harris (widow) in Pike County in 1862."
"The early Floyds in Pike County lived in the Orion community which was close to the Montgomery County line. The probate records for Pike County indicate that Theophilus II engaged in anumber of real estate transactions in this area between 1860 and 1883."
"The 1850 census for Pike County showes theophilus II as head of a familly. He and his wife Elizabeth Stevens had: Rebecca, Levin (or Irwin), Timothy (G.), Charles and Amandy, Charles Rowlin and Theophilus Rowlin, living in the home were probably the children of a sister of Theophilus II. Another son was born to Theophilus II and Elizabeth after the date of the census; he was Tom Ben Floyd, born April 29, 1855."
"Rebecca Floyd (daughter of Theophilus II and Elizabeth) was born about 1835. She married James Hattaway and they had six children: George, Robert Jack, James "Jim" B., Joseph, Willie E., Martha "Mattie"."
"Timothy G. Floyd (son of Theophilus II and Elizabeth) was born in Pike County in 1839 and died in the county in 1898. He enlisted in the Confederate army July 29, 1861. he was wounded at the Battle of Shiloh in 1862 'by being shot in the head.' He returned to the service later and fought in many other major battles."
"Timothy G. Floyd marriedCaroline Herndon in Pike County, November 28, 1865. She was a daughter of Joseph and Alley (Perkins) Herndon. Apparently Timothy G. Floyd spent his entire life in Pike County. He had five children: Emma Floyd (1870-1927) married George Herring; Benjamin Perry Floyd (1872-1936) married Daisy Magdaline Duncan-he was a Baptist minister in Pike and Covington counties; John Pruett Floyd (1874-1937) married Willie Ella Williamson in Pike County; Frances (Fannie) Rebecca Floyd (1877-1949) married Joseph Jackson Herring; Willie Jackson Floyd (1879-1933) married Mittie Adell Johnson."
"Timothy G. Floyd died December 17, 1898 and his widow's pension No. 29476 was granted in 1920. A grandson remembered that Timothy had a "silver plate" in the upper forehead replacing some of the broken skull."
"Tom Ben Floyd (son of Theophilus II and Elizabeth)was the father of Fletcher Floyd, Winton Floyd, and Gladys Floyd Hicks."
"Theophilus Floyd II married Secondly, Mrs. Eliza Anne (Milligan) Harris in Pike County. The widow Harris had a daughter Emmie Harris, by her first husband. Emmie born in 1861, was one year old at the time of her mother's marriage to Theophilus Floyd II. By his second marriage, Theophilus II had these children: Martha Vicotry Floyd (1865-1945) married William Richard Grantham; Lottie M. Floyd, born in 1867, married John M. Ganus; Mary Caroline Floyd married John Lloyd Patterson in 1899; Willie J. Floyd, born 1872 and died ca. 1885; Siller S. Floyd, born 1875, married Henry Wiley Turner."
