Moses Floyd born about 1760 and became a Methodist circuit-riding minister. By 1802, he was in GA when he was sent to Mississippi to assist Rev. Tobias Gibson. By 1805, he married Hannah Griffing in Jefferson County MS and they eventually had five children, including my 3rd-G-Grandmother Salina Eunice Floyd (born 1808). The family moved to Prairie Jefferson in Morehouse / Ouachita Parish, Louisiana around 1811, along with other Griffing family members. But they soon moved again to Natchez / Adams County MS. Rev. Moses Floyd died of measles at age 54 in 1814 in Natchez MS.
Is it true that my Moses' parents were Thomas & Frances Floyd, who lived in Rowan County NC about 1782 and later were in SC & GA? I have no other info on Moses' early family or any generations prior but would love to know more if any researchers have more to share.
Also, I understand that while in Morehouse / Ouachita Parish LA, Moses appeared in court in an interesting case that's on record, but I don't have that info if anyone has that to share. Thanks.
