Until I read this latest string of posts I did not know about George Willison Fluckey. If he was born in 1852 he would be the right age to be the George Fluckey who married Mary Ellen "Ella" Loy b. 16 Jan 1854.
I quote from notes on the Loy family site at
DESCENDANTS OF JOHN GEORGE [HANS JURICH] LOY
"Notes for GEORGE BUCKLEY: As far as the Buckley/Fluckey debate... I got the name Fluckey from Margaret Poe's obit and Sarah Cusac Reed's will. The will lists about all of her living siblings, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Ray Fluckey is listed as a grand-nephew. His address is E. Lincoln St, Findlay, OH. I still have to find their marriage record and death records and their children's records. Sheila Kratzer"
Notes from the will: From Margaret's ObitThe Findlay Daily Courier 09 Sep 1905 p. 4 One daughter Mrs. M. E. Fluckey and one son, J. T. Poe having preceeded her to the better world
So the question is did some Fluckeys change their name to Buckley???? And who was George Fluckey who marreid Ella Loy?And is this how Loy became a given name in the Fluckey family?
