I'm trying to connect some early "Pioneer Fluhartys" to John Fleehartee and Hannah Penick
As far as I know there are no connections to the Fluharty's and Fleharty's of the Eastern Shore. We can trace back to a probable four brothers Amassa, James, Stephen and Noah. They were all up for endenturement in Fredrick, MD and probably are in the same family.John Fleharty that was in PA in the 1790 census may be a related person but he from what I gather is older than the other four.He moved from PA to Washington County, OH and has his family all listed in his will. Joshua Fluharty/Fleharty was the Indian Fighter.
Joshua Fluharty appears in Engle's lists - "Undersignated Militia -Bedford County, PA
Joshua Fleeheart was a Ranger (Washington County, OH) serving time to time 1791-3 and March 1791 living with family in Belpree and Farmers Castle. Quotes from Athens County history 1795 "two of the Fleeharts, noted frontiersmen, came up the Hockhocking to hunt"
and in 1806 Board of Commisioners authorized temporary prison to recieve John Fleeharty.
Further from PA Archievs; "Soldiers who recieved Depreciation Pay as per cancelled certificates -
Rangers of the Frontiers, 1778-1873 Joshua Fleeharty - Bedford County.
If anyone can connect the four other Frontier Families with John Fluharty who was in Washington County, OH but eventually had a will in Wood County, (W)VA and his children please contact me.

I would like to connect to Fleharty's further back than I presently can. A better fit than the Eastern Shore Fleharty's is
Maryland Marriages, 1634-1777
John Fleehartee married Hannah Penick7 April 17351 BA-280
Married at St Georges Parish Hartford County compiled by Robert Barns, Baltimore, MD
As far as I know we can not tie our family to this John Fleehartee but at least they are in the right part of Maryland. There names John and Hannah are also found in the Fluharty's in Marion County, WV.
Further, does anyone have any documentation that ties these Fluhartys with the Eastern Shore Fleharty's.

This is the Stephen Fleharty that was mistakenly said to be a veteran of the American Revolution in DAR records. The Revolutionary War Vet ended up in Monongalia, VA (Now Marion County, WV).
The Fleharty's seemed to stay pretty much on the Eastern Shore of Maryland until the early 1800's.
The Fluharty's were in Fredrick, MD in 1750's where their parents apparently both died and four of them were in court records for indenturement.Apparently Stephen was to close to being of age and wasn't endentured but the other three were.
I repeat again there is no link that I've ever heard to link what we call the "Pioneer Fluhartys" to the "Eastern Shore Flehartys.
