In the 1870 US Federal Census of Dover (Cuyahoga County, Ohio) we find the following record: Flury Jacob (45), Blacksmith, Place of Birth: Germany Flury Mary (44), Place of Birth: Germany Flury Adam (14), Place of Birth: Germany Flury Lena (12), Place of Birth: Germany Flury Susan (15), Place of Birth: Germany Flury Benny (9), Place of Birth: Germany Flury Amos (2), Place of Birth: Ohio Even if the place of birth is not correct (it should be Switzerland instead of Germany), this is the family of Jakob Fluri and Maria Magdalena Allemann, from Herbetswil, Solothurn, Switzerland.
The 1880 US Federal Census of Olmsted Township (Cuyahoga County, State of Ohio) contains the following record; Flury Jacob (56), Blacksmith, Place of Birth: Switzerland Flury May M. (54, Wife, Place of Birth: Switzerland Flury Amos (13), Son, Place of Birth: Ohio Flury Jacob (8), Son, Place of Birth: Ohio The other children (Adam, Lena, Susan, Benny) are not part of this family record.
In 1992, Jerry Flury friendly informed me that > 1876 Oct 18, Jacob Flury became US citizen (probate Court, Cuyahoga County, Ohio) > the son Amos Flury, Blacksmith and Engineer, married Mary McDonald. The couple had four(?) children 1) Mary Agnes Fleury 1890-1970 (marr. Fred BRUEHLER) 2) Helena Margarit Fleury (marr. D. KEIDEL) 3) Mrs A. WUNDERLE 4) Mr Vincent BRANDT (?) > 1908 Nov 19, the son Jacob Edward Flury (1871- 1931 Aug 23), Engineer, married Genevieve GRIFFIN (maiden name FOY). This couple had two sons 1) Jacob A. Flury 2) Joseph Flury
