Daphne, I sent you an email, but thought it might be a good idea to put it on the board as well, since I am fast running out of ideas on how to find Lucy Hyde and maybe one of these Flurry researchers will have an answer to my question.
Pretty sure it is a different Lucy Hyde, but there may be some connection. The Lucy Hyde I am looking for married Jefferson Moulton.Lucy is supposed to have been born in GA, and the only one I can find is 18 years old, living with Robert D. Flurry, 37,and his wife Frances, 26, in Schley Co. GA in the 1870 census.Since I don't have a birthdate for Lucy, although I think it may be around 1852, I can't even be sure this is the right Lucy.
Also in the 1870 GA census is Thomas Flurry, 66, and his wife Lucy, 50, with a daugher, Frances 22, and a James Hyde, 9.Is that your Thomas and his wife?If Thomas' wife is Lucy Hyde (and I have been speculating that Hyde is the maiden name of either Thomas' wife or Robert's wife), it would explain why the Hyde children are living with them.My reasoning is that the parents of Lucy and James Hyde had died and the children were with relatives ... James with his grandparents, Thomas & Lucy, and my Lucy with an aunt and uncle.
In 1860, Thomas & Lucy are in Marian County, and there is a 12 year old Nancy living with them.I assume this is your Nancy who marrked Jordan Willis.By 1860, Nancy is no longer listed.I have collected census information about the Flurrys and always check the gen boards in the hope that someone will know what the connection between the Flurrys and my Lucy Hyde is.
Is Rev. Willis online?Maybe he knows something about the Flurry/Hyde connection.I have been stumped on this line for ages, and could sure use a break-thru.
