Among Marian Prescott Brown's papers, - no date on the hand written letter from Jennie (Curtis) Fly, who was Mrs. John Davis Fly, - is the following material, written to Mrs. Brown in the 1930's. John Davis Fly was the son of William Fly, b. 1830, son of this John Fly, b. 1800, son of Enoch Fly, b. 1776
It begins with the information taken by her directly from the John Fly Bible.

Jennie (Curtis) Fly continued, " I can find no record of John Fly brothers nor his sister - never heard anyone speak of them. John Fly (John Boon Fly, b. 1800 - is meant) was living with Father Fly when I was married. (Father Fly is William Fly, b. 1830) He told me Enock, his father, left Virginia and went to Missouri when he (John Boon Fly) was eleven years old (say 1812, is indicated) and he grew up and married there. He came out to father's in Montana when he was an old man. His wife was dead then. I don't know when she died. Grandfather died in 1884.I do not know the exact date."
I stop here because I am out of time.I propose to pick up in this letter and continue if you wish me to go on with more time to do the material justice. May I have an expression of interest from anyone, - especially from any descendants of Enoch Fly and Alsea, his wife.
