Obit for Achsah Hawkins Fly
ACHSAH HAWKINS FLY, a resident of Conroe, TX, died peacefully on January 4 after a brief illness. She was born November 9, 1914 in Raymond, Kansas to Harry and Cassandra Hawkins. Achsah was a mother and homemaker her entire life and loved by all for her sense of humor, thoughtfulness, generosity and her "Cowboy Cookies". She was a member of Westminster United Methodist Church of Houston. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy, and five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by daughter Karen Achterberg and her husband Pat of Houston; son Robert Fly and his wife Sara of Winston Salem, NC; sister Doris Nichols and her husband Bob of Grants Pass, OR and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, January 8th at the cemetery in Sterling, Kansas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 9th, 3:00 pm, at Westminster United Methodist Church, San Felipe and Bering. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westminster UMC or a charity of your choice.
