Berniece Fly, 76, a resident of Centralia for the past 12 years, died January 30, 2004 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. She was born November 1, 1927 in Kahala, HI. She was reared and attended school in Hawaii. She married Charles R. Fly and they had 3 children. The family lived in the Tenino area from 1976-1993 and later moved to Centralia. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting and canning, and especially en-joyed giving her canned goods to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Fly on Feb. 19, 1994. She is survived by: 2 sons: Melvin Fly, Des Moines, WA, Robert Fly, Tenino, WA; 1 daughter: Danice Duda, Yelm, WA; 3 brothers: Joe Mattos, Ka-hala, HI, Herbert Mattos, Hayward, CA, Robert Mattos, California; 2 sis-ters: Mildred Mattos, Hono-lulu, HI, Joanne Cruise, San Antonio, TX; 8 grand-children and 3 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 6 at the New Life Christian Center in Yelm at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Gary Duda will officiate. Private Inurnment has taken place at Forest Grove Cemetery in Tenino. Sticklin Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrange-ments.
