1829 -- 129 Acres William Fly
This indenture made this 17th day of August 1829 between William Fly of the County of Carroll and State of Tennessee of the one part, Robert Levy and David P. Coldwell of the second part and Thomas Grubbs and Efhrain A. Ewing trading under the firm name of Grubbs & Ewing of the third part witnesseth that the said William Fly for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the same Robert Levy and David P. Coldwell to him in hand paid by the rect where-of and here-by acknowledged hath bargained, sold and conveyed and confirmed unto the said Levy and Coldwell, their heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate in the County of Carroll and State of Tennessee on the North side of the South fork of Obion River in Range one and section four in the twelfth surveyors District it being a part of a tract of 640 acres grant to said Dougherty by the State of Tennessee bounded as follows (to wit). Beginning on the North West corner of a 640 acre entry made in the name of Anderson Running North ninety one poles to a stake with a dogwood for pointer and thence West one hundred poles to a black gum post oak and black oak pointers thence South one hundred eight poles to a Hickory and black gum then West twenty four poles to a dogwood black oak and poplar pointers thence South East forty eight poles to a black gum and dogwood pointers thence East ninety eight poles to a chestnut white oak pointers standing in the West boundary of Andersons 640 acre survey thence North one hundred and ninety four poles to the beginning containing by estimation one hundred and twnty nine acres to have and told with all the rights, profits, emoluments, hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and benefit -- and behoof of him the said Levy and Coldwell, their heirs and assign forever and the said William Fly for himself, his heirs and doth covenant and agree to and with said Levey and Coldwell things here and ----- (If interest in the balance of this deed check with the Carrol County Tennessee Courthouse)>
