Hi, there was no foreclosure - ever. You would be referring to Alphus Capps, a Baptist preacher. When Alphus died, the family liquidated Alphus' estate by having an estate sale.Capps records for 200 years, Bibles, all of his books, etc.were part of the auction. However, I have copies of all the original deeds and other things Alphus sent to his friends. They are not hard to find.
I posted on the Capps page a letter written by Alphus Capps. With this letter was a page of land deeds that were in his family. My ggggrandfather, Elisha Fly Capps was a self taught man.He had carryed all this info to Missouri when he left Tenn.He also wrote in a diary every day of his life.I have copies of 4 of them.
Alphus and Franklin Capps communicated over this. When Elisha Fly Capps left Tenn. he did not sell off all the Cappps property. He never spoke about it until he was dying. He lived with Alphys Capps father, Henry Grandville Cicero Capps for many years.
Alphus and Franklin Capps tryed to recover the property. It was impossible to do so.By the time Alphus got to Tenn. whoever paid the taxes on the property owned it.The original site of William R. and Lucy Fly Capps was the property Joe Stout inherited. I have had many people send me copies of the family info that was sold so many years ago. Alphus enjoyed sharing what he had with others. There are still some items left from William and Lucy Fly Capps home.A mirror, quilt, spinning wheel and a chair. No, I do not have them in my possession. The person that does have them know they have some wonderful items.Yes, I know where they are - no, I will not say who has them because that particular family does not care to have 9 million people calling wanting to purchase these items.I made a promise to the owner of these items that I would not let the source known.I have seen these items for myself. They do exist. Also, almost evert son Elisha Fly Capps had were preahers and teachers.
I hope this clarifies what happened.I would not want anyone to say Alphus Capps home was part of a foreclosure. That would not haved ever happened - especially not to Alphus Capps..
