From page 118 of Fly Family History is the following:
Elisha Fly Gift Deed 185 Acres to Heirs of Solomon SedwickRegistered 14th September 1839
For the love and affection I entertain for the heirs at law of Solomon Sedwick, deceased, I do hereby give, transfer and convey to them my tract of land in Weakley County, Tennessee, District No. 9 in Range l and Section 4 in the 12 Surveyors District.Containing by estimation, one hundred eighty five acres.Bounded as follows to wit, beginning at J. W.Cochran's North West corner thence running South fifty poles to astake James H. Capps North line, thence West with said Capps line 56 poles to astake white oak and dogwood pointers, thence South sixty poles to a stake and poplar pointer, thence West two hundred and forty five poles to H. Capps North West corner, in the meridian line thence North with said line, one hundred and ten poles, to the South West corner of a five thousand acre survey entered in the name of Dickson, Jones and Barnett, thence East with said line, three hundred and one poles to the beginning.To have and to hold the same to the said heirs at law of the said Solomon Sedwick deceased their heirs and assigns forever.I covenant and agree for myself and heirs to warrant and defend the title to said tract of land to the said heirs at law of Solomon Sedwick deceased their heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of all persons whatever this 28th day of August 1839.

This day personally appeared before me, Kinchen Williams, Weakley County Clerk of the County Court of said County of Weakley, John Hopkins and William B. Stone; witnesses, after being sworn say that they are acquainted with Elisha Fly Signor, and that he acknowledged before them that he executed the within for purposes therein contained.
