Thank you Jim, Your stories of George Washington Fly verify that mine are true. The G.W. Fly, son of Sterling Brown Fly, was my grandmother's, (Lillian Elizabeth Fly Carsey), brother. My father, George Thomas Carsey, was named after his uncle. Uncle George W. gave my Dad a horse and buggy when he fourteen. Soon after his father, Frank Davis Carsey, went bankrupt. To settle all debts the county had an auction of the Carsey possessions. Dad's horse and buggy was sold in the auction because Dad was a minor. After the auction he told his mother he was going to Texas and she could go with hime if she wanted to. The whole family, father, mother and three children, came to Texas onan ox-drawn wagon.
