Yes, it is I, James Whitney "Jim" Fly of Montgomery, AL, - still alive and kicking.I'll be 79 in November of this year. Nice to hear from you again.
I have over 11,000 names in my data-base now, and a lot more that are "Typed in" to their slot, but not given a record number. This occurs when the name has changed from "Fly" to something else by marriage and marriage of the non-Fly-named offspring.
The inquiry you make about the parents of Sarah Jane Trader and Mary Belle Hester certainly won't hurt to ask; but the liklihood of getting a knowledgeable answer is only a bit better than "slim to none". However, in all fairness, I occasionally get inquiries and make contacts with people who are specializing in some non-Fly family; and THEY sometimes bring with them the parents-of-the-spouse's name(s) (married to the Fly).
The information I passed to you is ALL we have on Sarah Jane Trader's Scotch background. The material simply said, "The Traders were from Scotland."
When we are seeking for new information THAT far back in time, it's "like pulling teeth" to learn anymore. You always keep hoping for a major new find that is, in fact, a real breakthrough; but they are few and far between. We so desperately need to find the indicated Will & Testament of William Fly, b. ca. 1726/7 who died ca. 1794/5. Will we ever find it?Nobody knows.
Good to hear from you.I have taken down your e-mail address for my Directory, but would like to be given your current "snail-mail" address and phone number. My address and phone number remain the same as for many years now. Box #11387, Montgomery, AL334-281-0982
