No LR, but SSN issued in Wisconsin. If that is your dad, chances are your grandfather was born 1870 - 1890, your GGF 20 - 40 years before that and Joseph 20 - 40 years before that. At 30 years per generation, average, we're back to 1820, when Wisconsin was a howling wilderness, more or less. Alt least there were more bears and Indians there that there are today, and less European-Americans.
In my experience, maiden names and dates are th emost helpful clues you can have. Your grandfather's marriage license, your father's birth certificate, your grandmother's obituary, your father's SSN application or your father's obituarymight all provide your grandmother's maiden name. Birth and/or death dates would help too.
