Thank you for you quick response.

I have searched for a long time to find the death and marriage of Alexander without success. I assume therefore he left Scotland.

I have him on the 1901 census in Aberdeen aged 15 and studying to be a Mechanical Engineer but I have lost track of him after this time.

Do you know where Muriel was born?

It seems unlikely that this is the right Alexander but there again ... who knows?
