Foulkes, Bootle, England c1880
Peter Foulkes was a rigger on a sailing ship out of Liverpool. He had a brother named David. Peter married Sarah Bonney. In 1880 my grandfather, Thomas was born in Bootle. His sister, Jessie, was born about two years later.Peter died while bathing over the side of the ship near Costa Rica c.1883.It has been called sun stroke and shark attack. Sarah and the children moved to East Boston, MA in about 1886.Sarah eventually remarried Edmond PEARS. Thomas was a rigger, too.He worked as a Master Rigger on Old Ironsides during her overhaul back c.1930. Can anyone shed any light on the Foulkes Family in Bootle?
