America M. Fowler is not the son of America JR.
I am looking for information on the parents of America M. Fowler. This is not the same America (age 16) who is America Jr.s, and Bethaney Mooney's son in the 1850 census in Hot Spring, Arkansas.
America (aka A.M.Fowler and Moon Fowler)was born in SC (per 1850 census) or Georgia (per 1860 and 1870 census) around 1825.
In 1850 he was living (age 26) in Benton Co., AL with his first wife Mary Ann T. Clark (married 9/23/1847 in Benton Co.) with one daughter - L.M., age 6 months. He lived a few houses away from Nancy M. Towns.
By the 1860 census(Benton Co. was renamed Calhoun Co.) America (age 35) had married Nancy Towns and had several more children - Mary, age 8, Paralee, age 5 and Embry, age 3.He also had a 70 year old women living with him, born in SC.Her name looks something like Jnda (sic) Fowler.Could this possibly be his widowed mother?
By the 1870 census America (age 48?) had moved to Smith Co., Texas and had additional children Sarah, age 9 and Milton, age 7.He died 1873 in Smith Co., Texas.I have additional information on Nancy Towns family if anyone is interested. Her parents are Reuben Towns and Lavinia Ledbetter, NOT Henry Towns and Lucretia Calhoun.
