Re: George Fowler
New news on the George and Eunice saga:
The following has been verified and, where possible, documents sent for:
Eunice died in Ross Co., Ohio in 1883 of consumption.
George died in Forest City, Winnebago Co., Iowa April 12, 1895 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery
also buried there: his son Andrew, his son Delbert and Delbert's wife Sarah "Bragg"
George (Jr.) married Clarissa Ann Bevard November 8, 1884 in Ross Co., Ohio
I have developed a new theory-----In "The History of Grundy County, Illinois" published in 1882, we find that an Amelia Fowler married Daniel Ferguson and, after Daniel's death of cholera, moved to Grundy Co., IL in 1854.In 1850 I have been unable to find a single Fowler family in Grundy Co., IL.In 1859 George is there and marries Eunice. They are listed in Goodfarms Twp. in 1860.With the naming of his kids, (see previous message), it seems quite logical that George and Amelia "Fowler" Ferguson are siblings and migrated to Illinios about the same time.Any comments out there?
A bit more of a stretch is the theory that both Amelia and George are the children of Amos and Achsah "Raymond" Fowler of Herkimer Co., NY.The time line fits with the census analysis work I've done.I haven't been able to disprove it yet.Can anyone prove it?
