Fowlers from Tennessee

I'm so confused I've been searching the Fowlers all day More I look the worse it gets. I'm descended from James Madison Fowler born 1831 in Ten. died 1899,Missouri. Could some one straighten me out. Wasn't James father William Anderson Fowler wife Mary Brownlowand his father William Sr. wife Mary then Godfrey wife Susannah Godfrey's father was John. I could sure use some help to get these people straight.
