William Thomas Fowler/Emmie Pence, North Georgia
Looking for information on the father of William Thomas Fowler (on some census records listed as William "M" Fowler) born around 1862 in Georgia.Married Hannah Emily (Emmie) Pence around 1882.She is listed on the 1880 census of Pickens County, GA, as daughter of Elisabeth and sister of Rosetta. He is apparently listed on both theCherokee County, Georgia and Cherokee County, Alabama census of 1880. Family could have moved and got onto both. Both died in Jefferson County, Alabama; she in 1933, and he in 1936.His death certificate lists his father as "Tom" and his mother as "Jane." There is a Tom and Jane in the Meriwether County, GA area, but the siblings do not match; the siblings match with Thomas F and Matilda I/S/J.Apparently J on later census documentation."J" could stand for Jane. Name apparently listed as "Susan" on some census records. William Thomas is brother of John Marion Fowler and Posey Fowler. Trying to determine if this is direct descendant of Fowler line, or was originally Barton and grafted in after the Revolutionary War or War of 1812.If anyone has any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
