Probably because: The Nashville Christian Advocate issue dated 10 May 1850 p.8; Rev. John Foxworth died , April 1, 1850 in Wilcox County, Alabama. Was a Methodist preacher, Ala. conference, and a native of Marion District, SC.
This Rev. John Foxworth was, I believe, the brother to Eliza Foxworth McNeill, wife of John T. McNeill of Wilcox county, Alabama,(John T. McNeill was a brother to Malcom McNeill of Monroe County, Alabama.)
John Foxworth did not die until April 1, 1850, so he was named in the will of his sister Eliza, whose will was dated March 18,1850 and filed eventually in the Wilcox county courthouse.
This obituary of John Foxorth is most important because it places him in Marion District, SC.
