Capt. Arnold Francis apparently served in Washington's army at Valley Forge, as a captain. Capt. Arnold Francis married Elizabeth Umstad December 29, 1764. They had five children Thomas, John, Catherine, Debora and David. (no birth dates of the children are mentioned). Capt. Arnold Francis died in 1803.

Pennsylvania Gazette [newspaper],, March 5, 1754., "TO be sold by publick vendue, on Thursday, the 14th of March, at the house of Arnold Francis, in the Northern Liberties, Horses, cows, breeding mares, carts, ploughs, harrows, and several other implements of husbandry, &c. The sale to begin a nine a clock in the forenoon, where due attendence will be given by ARNOLD FRANCIS.
[Note: This date is one year after the death of Joseph Samuels of Plymouth twp. Was Francis selling off Joseph Samuels' excess farming implements and livestock to clear the estate? The inventory of Joseph's estate does mention horses, cows, plows, etc.]
