Your best bet is to get the birth certificate of Howard Frankish if he is the oldest one you have.That will give you his parents names, and you can get the marriage certificate. That will give occupations and where they were living.Then keep working your way backwards.
You can look for them on the 1881 census which is availablefree on IGI
If you have the place, the year, the quarter, eg 'Mar' is the 1st quarter so the event was registered in 'Jan Feb or Mar.' the folio number, and the page number, you can get a long form certificate at a reduced price from the GRO. Good luck in your search .:-))
