Re: French Family of Nash, Buckinghamshire
Hi Daren - I bet the person who shared the "staggering" amount of info is Greg Davies, who shared the same with me!!In which case, you know all I know and more. However, I wonder if your FRENCH line connects at all with the several I've got. These are the key marriages (my main family names come first in each pair):
Kezia JOLLY m. Thomas ILLING 21 Apr 1806 (their daughter Jane ILLING m. Thomas FRENCH)
Mary FRENCH m. William LOVESY on 19 Oct 1835 in Leckhampstead.Mary was daughter of Thomas FRENCH and Kitty WINMILL.Thomas is an unknown quantity, brick wall in my stepfather's line.
James UNDERWOOD m. Ann FRENCH abt 1836.James was of Whaddon, son of Thomas & Ann.
Edward UNDERWOOD m. Elizabeth FRENCH bef. 1827 when daughter Sarah Ann was bap in Gt Horwood.I have no info about either parent
Catharine MORRIS m. Benjamin FRENCH on 14 Jan 1812 in Potterspury
Esther TIMS m. Edward BONHAM - Esther was sister to Sarah TIMS who m. William DUNKLEY, son of William DUNKLEY & Mary FRENCH - a distant FRENCH connection but a real one :)
BONHAM, JOLLY and UNDERWOOD are my main interests in Nash/Whaddon. But as you know the families in these villages all intermarried so much I bet I have more FRENCH connections to my main lines than I've discovered yet.The Passenham/Potterspury FRENCH line is my stepfather's.
Hope these details will stir some interest.
Best wishes, Celia
