Alonzo "Lonnie" Friend died in Wisconsin from train accident
Would anyone be researching Friends that were in Wisconsin during the 1930's-1970's.I have a group of brothers and one sister that were born in Charlestown, Clark County, Indiana and spent time living in Connersville, Fayette County, Indiana, roughly until the 1920's-1930's.
They are the sons of Stewart Friend and Nannie Belle Smith. The siblings are Ward Elzie Friend b. May 24, 1891 d. Feb2, 1947 in Ohio
Donald Pearl Friend b. March 28. 1894 d. Oct 25. 1974
Harry Gordon Friend b. Oct 13, 1895d. June 2, 1966
Alonzo "Lonnie" Ernest Friend b. Feb 1897d. abt 1948
Charles Stewart Friend -not confirmed that he was ever in Wisconsin.
Ruby M. Friend/Stanley/Melton b. May 15, 1904 d. unknown
Donald, Harry and Lonnie all died in Wisconsin
Alonzo "Lonnie is the main interest. The information that I have says he marriedThelma Louise Bowen on Oct 20, 1923 in Marion County, Indiana. The children that I know they had were Betty L. and Robert and then a son for which I have no name.I do have a family picture with Alonzo his wife and three children. The story is that he was involved in a car- train accident which took his life.My father remembers going by trian from Ohio to Wisconsin to the funeral when he was abt 5 years old. This would mean that my best guess for a year of death would be 1948 because my dad was born in 1943. I believe the location to be in or near Milwaukee.
Donald lived in West Allis, Milwaukee County WI at the time of his death in 1974.His children were Clifford, Wallace, Ethel and Dorothy. His wife was Helen Meyer they married in 1918.
Harry lived in Wausau, Marathon County, WI when he died in 1966.
I am looking to connections to the children of these men, obituaries, death records, etc.
If anyone has any information I would be happy to hear from you.
