hello- the Napoleon Frierson of Nashville
I know of was born in Cross Bridges, Tennessee near Columbia near the end of
the 1800s.As a little boy, he was a groom
tending the race horses of Hinton Frierson.
One day, he brought to Hinton Frierson's
attention a large horse that was thought to
be too big and clumsy for harness racing.
He convinced Hinton Frierson and Clark Jones
who was co-owner of the horse that they
should give the horse a chance.Napoleon
raced the horse for them which was the
beginning of a long career for the horse who
was named Napoleon in honor of the boy.
Napoleon, the horse, still has a world's
record standing.Napoleon served in WW1
and is buried in a peaceful spot on the
farm where he was born.If this story
fits your Napoleon let me know and I can
tell you more.
