I believe Thomas Randolph Fruin is my greatgrandfather.
I have only just started researching my family history - but so far i've found out:
Thomas was baptised on 12.8.1852 in Marsh Baldon, Oxfordshire as Thomas Randolph Gable
His parents were Nathaniel Gable, an agricultural labourer and Caroline (as stated on the baptism record). However Caroline left Nathaniel between 1852-1855 to be with Thomas Fruin - so it is open to question if Thomas Fruin is Thomas Randolphs real father.
By 1861, Thomas Randolph was living in Wokingham with Caroline, Thomas & other family members.
In 1871, he was still in Wokingham, living with his younger brother
In 1891 he was an assistant tutor at a boarding school St Leonard, Exeter, Devon
By 1885 he was with Charlotte Jane Fruin and must have beenspending part of his life with her in Marsh Baldon.
By 1891/92 the family moved to Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.Thomas Randolph is burried in Dorchester-on-Thames cemetery - burial date is 29.3.1924
Thomas and Charlotte had the following children: Alfred (my grandfather - in 1885), John (1887 who may have died in childhood - I still need to confirm this), Mabel (1890 who sadly died in 1892), Frederick (1892) & Dorothy (1895).There is also a further son Thomas (born 1871) - i'm not sure if he is Thomas Randolphs son or Charlottes by a previous relationship.
Does this sound like the Thomas Randolph Fruin you are looking for?
