LYNN, Ind. -- Joan Fudge, 77, of Lynn, Ind., passed away early Saturday morning, June 9, 2007.
She was born May 6, 1930, in Wayne County, Ind., the daughter of Archie and Irene (Maines) Thornton.
She was married Aug. 6, 1949, to Marvin Fudge.
Before retiring in 1995, Joan was a teacher's aide at Randolph Southern Elementary for over 20 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 57 years, Marvin Fudge; two sons, Greg Fudge (wife Sylvia) and Scott Fudge (wife Beverly); three daughters, Brenda Franklin (husband Larry), Candi Smithson (husband Mark) and Mary Gobbett (husband Troy); a twin sister, June Alyea (husband Jim); eight grandchildren, Kyle Smithson, Emily Smithson, Lyle Franklin, Alex Franklin, Hannah Franklin, Megan Fudge, Tyler Fudge and Lindsay Gobbett; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Sarah; a sister, Marifrances Jordan; and a brother, Bob Thornton.
A service to celebrate Joan's life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Thomas Memorial Chapel in Lynn, Ind., with Paul Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery in Fountain City, Ind. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at the funeral home.
