Grayson County, TX -- CLOUNTZ/FULENCHEK
I am grasping at straws and hope someone might recognize these people.
My great-grandmother was Annie CLONTS MORAN(D).Her maiden name was spelled CLONTS on funeral home records from 1930, Muskogee, OK.No one in our family has ever really known if that was the correct spelling or not. On those same funeral home records, her mother's name is listed as Nancy HOOVER.Her husband's surname was also spelled two different ways: MORAN or MORAND. He was know by two different given names: Douglas or Jess. They had several children born in Grayson County (Dennison, Pottsboro) from 1889 to as late as 1904.My grandmother was born in Oktaha, Indian Territory in early 1905, so we know they had to have left Texas by the end of 1904, if not earlier.
You are probably wondering why I've written to the FULENCHEK Forum. In searching the internet for anything at all, I've come across two different web pages that list a Marion CLAUNTZ (CLOUNTS) with wife, Nancy HOOVER.One states that they were on the 1910 Census Grayson County, living with granddaughter Annie MORAND. And in one of the GEDCOMs, there are two descendants of Marion CLOUNTZ who married a FULENCHEK.Since the surname is unusual, I thought it was worth a try.
Bertie CLOUNTZ, son of Henry E. CLOUNTZ, grandson of Marion CLOUNTZ, married Unknown FULENCHEK and according to the GEDCOM, they had two children whose names were only given as "Living."
"Living" SMITH, daughter of "Living" CLOUNTZ, granddaughter of Henry E. CLOUNTZ, g-granddaughter of Marion CLOUNTZ, married "Living" FULENCHEK.This couple had fourteen children whose names were all listed as "Living."When I read that, I thought that surely they had some descendants still out there that might be able to help us.
It just seemed to me that the names CLONTZ, MORAN AND FULENCHEK aren't that common and the three combined in a family tree probably didn't happen that often and since we know our Annie CLONTS MORAN lived in Grayson County, Texas when her children were born, it seemed to me that there might be a connection.
Thanks for taking your time to read this. Also thanks for any help you might offer even if it is to only rule out any connection.
