Morris, I've just reviewed the earlier research notes of the noted Morris C. LeFever and see that the film of the marriages recorded at the Evangelical Reformed Church identify groom "Major Charles Baltzell" as the man who married 10 Jun 1794 Elizabeth "Hilton" - [SIC- Elizabeth Fulton.]
So ... disregard my earlier message.
Let's see, on 8 October 1806, Robert Fulton, Charles Baltzel Jr, & John Baltzel, "all of Frederick County" posted $2,500 bond regarding the estate of Robert Fulton, deceased. [Frederick Co, MD, Administrator's Bonds.]
Executor, Robert Fulton, is the son of Robert Fulton, deceased, and husband to Barbara Baltzell. Further, the Will of Robert Fulton, deceased, (1805) provides for his daughter, "Elizabeth Baltzell."
I suggest that bondsman "Charles Baltzell Jr." is the husband of Elizabeth (Fulton) Baltzell, e.g. son-in-law to Robert Fulton, deceased ... and therefore, "Major Charles Baltzell." [If we are to believe the church entry.]
Which means ... John LeFever (son of Elias LeFever, deceased) went to live with his uncle "Major Charles Baltzel" .. that is, John lived with Charles and Elizabeth (Fulton) Baltzel in Frederick Co. MD.
Right?
