Adrienne, I finally got finished posting the info from your Gage family file to my Gage family members.I have a few questions and some additions also.
First, there is an error in the listing for John Franklin Clement and William Abram Clements, children of Lucinda Gage and Andrew J. Clements. The 1880 Wise County Census referred to says they were living next to William and Etheldra Gage. They were actually living next to William and Etheldra Clement, my great-grandparents.John Clement, his wife Charity, daughter L.J., mother-in-law (Mrs. Arvrill) and William Abram Clement were living in household #120.My great-grandparents with their three eldest children were living in household #119.My great-grandfather was a 1st cousin of Andrew J. Clement, father of John Franklin and William Abram Clement.Andrew's father, Abraham Clement, and my Grandpa William's father, William Wesley Clement were brothers of Lydia Clement who married John Andrew Gage.
Your listing has Emily Ellen Clement, wife of Jonathan Gage, as the daughter of Abraham Clement, making her Andrew J. Clement's sister.I think this is entirely possible, however, none of our Clement family research has a daughter named Emily Ellen for Abraham and Mary Clement. There is a "Edlen E. Clement" listed as a son of Abraham born the same year as Emily Ellen.I am inclined to believe that Edlen E. is really supposed to be the Emily Ellen who married Jonathan Gage for two reasons. One, she named one of her children "Abraham" which would be after her father, and second, on the 1860 Madison County Census, Abraham Clement, the 18 year old son of Abraham Sr. is living in the household with Jonathan and Emily Gage. This makes a lot of sense if he is her brother.I once found a Gage family listing on the internet that listed Emily Ellen as the daughter of Andrew William Clement and Sarah Skaggs (parents of Abraham, William Wesley, and Lydia).I found this hard to believe since Lydia was supposed to be their youngest child and there were about 12 years separating Lydia and Emily Ellen in age.
Your listing has Jonathan Gage as being born in 1829.I have him listed as born in 1824.On the 1850 Madison County Census he is listed as age 27, and on the 1860 Census he is listed as 36.
You have John Gage and Lydia Clement's oldest son listed as William Anderson Gage and I have him as William Andrew Gage.I have a biography about him that was printed by Goodspeed in the "History of Madison County, AR" from an interview with William. It stated that he and his wife had five living children, that their eldest child, John W. and their youngest child, Maggie B. were deceased. That would mean that the birth date for John w. could not be 1874. but would have to be before 1862.
I have a biography on Jonathan Elbert Combs, son of Phoebe Gage and John David Combs that was published in the "History of Grayson County, TX, that gives a lot of info on him.
