Hi!Bernice was one of nine children born to Alonzo and Winifred Gager.My father, Clarence was her brother.The Gager clan can trace our linage back to Jeremiah Jagger, a ships captain, who came to Salem, Mass. in 1630.He helped settle two colonies: Wethersfield, Mass. and he was one of 28 men who left Wethersfield and began a new colony of Puritans in Stamford, Conn.He married his wife Elizabeth and started his family.They later became the Gager clan.He was a merchant and ships master for the colony until he bacame ill on a trip to Barbados.He died enrout and as is buried in Barbados.The whole family tree is available.
